The objectives of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) are to:
- Demonstrate new technologies: KVKs demonstrate the latest agricultural technologies to farmers and extension workers.
- Test and verify technologies: KVKs test and verify technologies in the socio-economic conditions of farmers.
- Train farmers: KVKs train farmers, farmwomen, and rural youths using the principle of "learning by doing".
- Identify problems: KVKs identify area-specific problems of the farmers and prioritize them.
- Collect feedback: KVKs collect feedback from farmers and extension agencies.
- Provide information: KVKs provide new and important information on agriculture to extension agencies and NGOs
- Prepare extension models: KVKs prepare different extension models and verify them in the farmers' field.
- Conduct research: KVKs conduct research and transfer technologies.
- Plan surveys: KVKs plan and conduct surveys of operational areas.
- Develop farm science clubs: KVKs develop farm science clubs.
